Chieftronic PowerUp GPX-850FC (850w) PSU Review

Packaging
The front of the packaging is surprisingly distinctive despite it’s primarily black and silver coloring. In terms of the information provided though, the front gets us off to a great start. Not only do you get a nice large image of the power supply (showing the modular cable input bank), but you’re also told all of the key features at a simple glance.
The rear of the packaging goes into the technical details and a particular highlight is the fantastically large area utilized for the cables provided with this power supply. It is, after all, important to know that your PSU has everything you need to hook up all your system components and the Chieftronic PowerUp GPX-850FC does a fantastic job of making that information abundantly clear!
Overall, the packaging is fantastic and, quite frankly, a lot of other manufacturers could learn from this!
Accessories
As this is a power supply, you clearly do not anticipate that many accessories out of the packaging and while the Chieftronic PowerUp GPX-850FC is no exception in that regard, what you are provided with is still more than decent.
A key factor of this is the fact that Chieftronic provides you with a canvas bag for cable storage. Yes, admittedly, this isn’t something new or particularly unusual. When you see so many manufacturers who don’t bother with this, however, (often instead just putting them in all in a cheap plastic bag), it’s always a nice added bonus to ensure you have somewhere safe and sturdy to store the cables you don’t need for another potential day or system build.
Another item that should be noted is the product manual. Again, unlike many other alternative brands, the booklet if of a surprisingly excellent quality.
Admittedly, the information contained within is rather dry. And when you discover that the manual includes around a dozen regional translations, there isn’t actually that much to cover. For those of you who do need these kind of details, however, the manual is certainly of a (again, surprisingly) excellent quality and very easy on the eye to read.
