A Closer Look
The top of the case with its 2x120mm fan grilles. The plastic retainers you can see can be released on the inside to remove the basic but functional dust filter.
The Chillblast branding sticker at the bottom the case is discreet and fits the case design nicely.
Plenty of ports at the business end of system. It’s worth noting that this version of the GTX 970 has HDMI 2.0.
On taking the side panel off, you suddenly realise that it’s impossible to lose the case door thumbscrews, as they unscrew without coming away from the panel; handy!
Cable management is to a very high standard here, with generous use of cable ties and everything packed neatly out of sight.
With the back panel off, the gods of cable management smile down on a nice and tidy job even in places where nobody sees.
The bottom of the cases has another grille with dust filter. This one doesn’t need to be unclipped to release, you just squeeze it slightly and it pops out ready for cleaning.
The completely clear red LED Corsair 120mm fan seems an odd choice by Corsair in terms of matching the rest of the fans, though it sits out of sight via the window and can only be seen via the light it omits through the front grille; there is also a dust filter at the front.
The Corsair H75 in push-pull thanks to a pair of 120mm fans should provide excellent CPU cooling even with the overclock applied.
The Samsung 850 SSD in its caddy, while the 3.5″ mechanical drive sits in its own caddy below.
Powered up.
From the front.
Side off, powered on.
The motherboard features some LED raised backlit sections which look really good!
