Cities Skylines 2 Recommends An RTX 3080 For 1080p

Cities Skylines 2 is the upcoming sequel to one of the best city builders available and is looking to be a solid upgrade over its predecessor. Alongside all of the technical improvements and gameplay changes graphics have been enhanced and with that has come some high system requirements that have been recently changed.
New Cities Skylines 2 System Requirements
The final PC system requirements for Cities Skylines 2 have been revealed and they have seen quite the increase from their original requirements. These requirements are based upon a full-HD (1080p) resolution which I assume takes 60FPS as the target. Starting with the minimum requirements, the CPU requirements have been increased to an i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X from the previous i7-4790K and Ryzen 5 1600X. The requirements still state 8GB of RAM but the GPU has been increased to the GTX 970 from the GTX 780.
Moving on to the recommended requirements is where things get a bit more heated. The original CPU requirements were for an i7-9700K or Ryzen 5 5600X which has now been increased to an i5-12600K and Ryzen 7 5800X. The RAM requirements are 16GB and the GPU has been increased from an RTX 2080 Ti to an RTX 3080 10GB which is quite an increase.
RTX 3080 For 1080p
So this is a 1080p target at what I assume will be max settings for 60FPS. Now the original Cities Skylines ran pretty poorly but high FPS isn’t really something you demand with the nature of the game, I would like to crank the settings to see my city in its prettiest form without much of a worry on frame rate, so long as I get a smooth 60. With an RTX 3090 Ti and soon a 12900K, I’m hoping I should achieve this but I will be running at 3440×1440 so it does have me a bit worried.
RTX 3080 for 1080p gaming only 3 years after its initial release, ouch.
Cities Skylines 2 launches on October 24th with a price of £41.99 on Steam.
