The classic Mafia game, which came out back in 2002, is arguably the best in the series. It was developed by Illusion Softworks and published by Gathering of Developers, and it was compatible with Windows, PS2, and Xbox. Now, so many years after its release, the game benefits from a remaster courtesy of a community mod pack. The pack represents the work of a modder named “‘spartaque12,” who put together several projects designed to improve the title’s graphics. It’s worth noting that the pack aims to maintain Mafia’s original atmosphere.
Mafia Remastered offers fantastic compatibility with widescreen monitors via a special widescreen fix. Moreover, gamers can now change the distance between the camera and the cars. Other goodies comprise a new HD interface and fonts, as well as mipmaps for almost all textures in the game. New HD textures, real car brands, high-quality 3D models, HQ weapon models and better traffic draw distance should definitely improve the overall gaming experience as well.
If you would like to download the Mafia Remastered mod, you can do so right here. It’s always worth revisiting an older game, especially if it received some recent love from the modding community.
