Gears of War was one of Microsoft’s biggest titles when the Xbox 360 was released. Featuring Co-op, multiplayer and modern graphics the game quickly became a flagship for the Xbox consoles, featuring not just one but two sequels carrying on a story that left people angry and in tears all at the same time. It’s no surprise then that Cliff Bleszinski, the creator of the franchise, has come out feeling rather happy with Gears of War 4.
The status posted on twitter, found below, makes it sound like he’s being kept in the loop regarding the series. Originally owned and created by Epic Games (the creator of the Unreal Tournament series and the Unreal Engine which Gears of War used), the franchise was purchased by Microsoft in 2014, with several games announced soon after.
With such a popular series Microsoft has unleashed Gears of War Ultimate, a modern update and remake of the original featuring not just the storyline but features and weapons from the more recent games. There has been no word though on the PC version which has still yet to be released, displeasing some who were looking forward to the game, one which has been confirmed as not being a port from the console version.
With great series of games, it’s always nice to know when the original creators are interested and exciting about remakes and new approaches to the series. Will be interesting to see how Gears of War 4 measures up to expectations when it releases.
