Cloud Imperium Release Squadron 42 Gameplay Video… But No Release Date, Obviously

Cloud Imperium has just released a brand new video which showcases 25 minutes of gameplay from the much… well, I was going to say anticipated, but I think that ship sailed a long time ago… long overdue? Yeah, let’s go with that. They released footage from the long-overdue single-player campaign Squadron 42 components of their even longer over-due game, Star Citizen.
In the video, you can see things are looking pretty slick, with plenty of cut-scene footage made in-engine, as well as some actual gameplay. One thing is for sure, Cloud Imperium really know how to nail the graphics side of things, but since they’ve had about ten years and a quadrillion dollars of crowdfunding on their endless farse of taking the money and stretching it into a life-long career, it’s good to see they’ve actually been doing… something.

However, they’ve now said the game is entering the polishing stage, seeking to make the game run smoother, tighten up the gameplay, and then likely come up with some more creative reasons why it isn’t out for another few decades.
There’s a lot to look forward to though, with some huge names tied into the game now. Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Henry Cavill, Gillian Anderson, John Rhys-Davis, Liam Cunningham, Mark Strong, Craig Fairbrass, and Ben Mendelsohn all have parts, which is impressive.
I may have backed the game in 2013, but of course, there’s still no ETA for the game’s release or for the full version of Star Citizen, but I think Michael J Fox said it best…
