CM Storm Ceres 400 PC Headset Review
Peter Donnell / 12 years ago
Overall a solid performance from the Ceres 400 headset and certainly better than I was expecting. That is not to say I was expecting poor performance from the latest CM Storm headset, but given their price tag I wasn’t expecting the sound quality to be as rich from a headset with such a modest price tag.
Sound quality was clear and true throughout all my tests and while they may not contain the loudest drivers ever, they provide more than enough volume for any user that isn’t half deaf. These would make for a fantastic set of headphones had the microphone been removable, but that’s not really what they were designed for. When it comes to gaming, listening to music or even watching a movie at your PC these are perfect for when you need to get into the heat of the action, lost in your favourite music or enjoy the finer details of your favourite movie without waking the whole street.
There is plenty of tough competition when it comes to gaming headsets and you’re pretty much spoilt for choice within this price range alone. There are however a lot of bad headsets within this price range and when you’re trying to find that balance between price vs performance, while also maintaining a certainly level of style you can spend a long time trying to find the right headset for you. Fortunate then that CM Storm have delivered on all fronts with a headset that out performed my expectations in terms of audio quality, at a low price and still manages to look and feel like a premium product.
I highly recommend this headset, although I will point out that yes there may be better sets on the market, but you can expect to pay twice as much for the privilege. While is why I am happy to award the CM Storm Ceres 400’s with our Bang For Buck Award.
