CM Storm Ceres 500 Gaming Headset Review

Final Thoughts
CM Storm have certainly proven they can make a reliable console compatible headset with the Ceres 500 and while I’m fairly certain that they’ve played it safe with this product, it is still a great starting point for what could be a new market for the company. I’m not saying we will see more CM Storm console hardware, but if the quality of the Ceres 500 is just the start, then I really hope we do.
As for playing it safe, there clearly isn’t anything innovative or new here, there are many headsets on the market that mimic nearly all of points on this headset, the only thing that is fresh is the design and I really like the understated looks, as well as the comfortable padding that covers the headset and ear cups. In terms of performance it is about on par with similar priced multi-format headsets such as those from Ozone & Tritton. This is of course no bad thing, it’s a very competitively priced headset with performance that is on par with the competition.
If you’re looking for a new headset and you’re a CM Storm fan then this is a great way to show your support for the brand, it’s well priced, it performs nicely and it looks pretty sleek too. While I say below that there are no cons to this headset, that really is because there isn’t really much to be wrong with this headset, it comes with all the features you would expect at this price range and they all work rather well, with the added benefit of being able to use it on your PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
Pros
- Tidy design
- Comfortable fit
- Good sound quality
- Multi-format compatible
Cons
- None
“CM Storm have done a great job with their first multi-format product and I can’t wait to see what they come up with in the future”
Thank you CM Storm for providing us with this sample.
