CM Storm Pitch In-Ear Gaming Headset Review

Final Thoughts

Price

Available for £24.95 from Overclockers UK the CM Storm Pitch are very competitive in their pricing when compared to the performance of over-ear, on-ear and in-ear headphones of a similar price from Creative, Plantronics, Ozone and other brands.

Overview

The CM Storm pitch are not the best solution for headphones I’ve tested, when it comes to listening to music I find a dedicated set of music headphones to be better at this price range. However, when it comes to mobile headset I find the Pitch to be better than most offerings in this price range and certainly a big improvement over the freebies that come with the handset and the added benefit of being able to hook it up to your PC or other mobile device / music player is a big win for those that don’t want to purchase multiple headsets.

Competitive gaming is easily the biggest win for the CM Storm Pitch and while I still prefer my dedicated over ear headset, I can’t argue with the fact that the performance here is great given their low price. Then you also have the biggest advantage of the Pitch, or should that be their smallest advantage, they’re tiny compared to normal gaming headsets. They’ll fit in your pocket, in a laptop bag or wherever, making them extremely portable and convenient when travelling, visiting LAN gaming events etc. They’re also very comfortable and when your playing for many hours in tournaments or with friends, your ears won’t be getting hot and tired from having a larger headset on and that is a big benefit for any gamer.

Bass could be a little thicker to balance the sound, but the clarity the low bass provides is not without its perks. If you just want to listen to music I would suggest you look elsewhere, but if you plan on playing a lot of games, answering a lot of calls and need some that has superb design and build quality, as well as long-term comfort, then the CM Storm Pitch could be the perfect headset for you and at less than £25 their also very affordable.

Pros

  • Excellent build quality
  • Flat tangle free cable
  • Three sets of ear buds included
  • Robust jack plugs and extra Y-split cable
  • Works on mobile and PC
  • Powerful and distortion free drivers

Cons

  • Bass lacks presence
  • Not ideal for music only use

“A solid outing from CM Storm once again and a great option for those who do not like larger headsets. They’re light, compact, have high compatibility with any 3.5mm equipped audio device and the price is kind to your wallet”

Thank you CM Storm for providing us with this sample.
