CM Storm Pitch Pro Gaming Earphones Review

Performance
I had high hopes for this headset, as I know Cooler Master have put a lot of effort into making it a great products. Fortunately, they’ve not let me down, as the performance is very impressive. Firing up a few of my favourite albums, the Pitch Pro put up a good fight, giving clear and detailed audio in a wide range of music types. Thundering death metal proved no issue for the drivers, giving punchy guitar lines and drums while retaining a good vocal track.
The same can be said for gaming performance, you get a lot of punch for the sound effects, but the chat audio still cuts through nice and clear. It does sound a little bass heavy at times, giving people a slightly deeper voice than is natural, but we’re PC gamers, we can fix this! I found that setting the EQ on my audio control panel to boost the mid tones and shave a little off some of the lower frequencies worked really well, making them much more clear. In fact, these drivers stand up well to significant EQ adjustments, so it should be easy to you to tailor the sound to your personal preference.
The microphone isn’t anything amazing, but certainly nothing to complain about either. I did a few tests in a team chat and on Skype, with no issues at all and the mic position is just right. It is fairly sensitive, but since your audio is coming through the headphones, not speakers, that shouldn’t be an issue.
