CM Storm Scout II Advanced Chassis Review

The interior of the Scout II Advanced is finished in black, giving a great high contrast look with the glossy white. The motherboard back plate comes equipped with a large CPU cooler cut-away and  three large cable routing holes that are fitted with high quality rubber grommets. The base of the chassis features four small rubber pegs for the PSU to rest on, ensuring that it doesn’t scratch the white paint work and also helping to reduce vibrations, next to that we have a 120mm fan mount (optional).

In the back we have a high quality 120mm exhaust fan, 7+1 reusable expansion slot covers that are held in place with thumb screws.

The three 5.25″ drive bays come fitted with an easy to use snap-lock system, below that we have a 4 bay hard drive bracket with a removable left wall to allow extra room for long graphics cards and another bracket with 3 hard drive bays and 2 3.5″ to 2.5″ adaptor trays.

The top of the chassis features plenty of ventilation, idea for the two 120mm fan mounting points, there is plenty of room here and you could easily install a 120/240mm radiator and fans here, that is after all what it’s designed for.

Around the back you can see there are a few cable tie down loops on the back plate, not as many as I would have liked to see, but it should be enough to keep things tidy. There is a large cutaway to the left also meaning cable management from your hard drives should be especially easy. Here you can also see the 3pin power cables coming from the two front mounted fans, the main I/O cables and the native USB 3.0 header cable, although I’m sure we can tidy those away better in out build section.
