Working with the Scout II Advanced was an absolute joy, everything was laid out perfectly to support tidy cable management, easy component installation and of course component compatibility, this meant I was able to put a clean-looking system together in about 15 minutes, which is quicker than most any chassis I’ve worked with. While yes I do have a lot of practice at putting these things together its a good indication to me that anyone looking to use this chassis is going to have an easy time of things. Cable management looks fantastic and while I’m sure even better results could be achieved it would likely be at the expense of even better cables and components, nothing to do with the chassis its self.
Our Antec 920 Kuhler had no issues what so ever fitting in this chassis, I just removed the stock 120mm exhaust fan and installed it into the base of the chassis to allow for even more air intake, something which will no doubt keep our GPU and CPU coolers fed with more than enough air when combined with the two 120mm front air intake fans. There is plenty of room between our GPU and PSU and I don’t doubt that the chassis can easily handle a multi GPU setup.
In the front of the chassis I have removed the top hard drive bay to allow for more airflow to our GPU and make room for a larger GPU, while our GTX 560 would have fit with the tray in place, it demonstrates just how much room the Scout II Advanced really has. Our Kingston SSD sits nicely in one of the bottom hard drive bays and while the rest of the hard drive bay is screwed in tightly I’m sure a moderately skilled case modder could remove this part completely to make way for a front cooling radiator, if your willing to put in the effort.
Around the back of the chassis, everything looks superbly neat and tidy and that gloss white provides a stunning contrast to the black highlight and our components.
It’s a little tricky to see our components through the tinted window but this case would look stunning with some subtle (or not so subtle dependent on your preferences) interior lighting that would further compliment the red LEDs of the front fans. Overall the chassis provides a very clean and professional looking final result.
