Straight out of the box, the mouse has a good weight, and a fairly big size. It will quite happily fit people with large and medium hands. The build quality of the mouse feels very high with a metallic sheen to the casing and a nice grill on top which adds a feel of quality. There is no obvious give in any of the buttons and it feels like a product that will stand the test of time. The cable is also adequately long enough and braided to ensure there are no snags or breakages. The design of the mouse is for right hand users, and the physical customisation is limited to lights and the logo, so you are stuck with the shape that it is, which I find to be perfect for use.
When first plugged in, it took a moment to install the drivers and once there, the lights on the mouse lit up, from the two ‘headlights’ and below the grill surrounding the OLED screen, and the OLED screen itself which displays the DPI of your two axis and a standard logo.
You only get to choose between a preset selection of colours but the colours are very clear and vivid, you can see the colours of the mouse in the pictures below.
There are a total of 8 buttons including the mouse wheel click and a further set of buttons you can access by holding the TX side button while clicking other buttons. On the top are buttons to change your dpi settings, and a button to change the profile, in front of the mouse wheel. ON the side is the forward and backward buttons with the aforementioned TX button.
The belly of the mouse is very simple, with a logo, model and serial number and a removable panel that houses 5x 4.5g weights. These are contained within the mouse by foam that has holes in them for the weights to reside. They were fairly easy to remove to begin with but as you take them all out, the last few started to pull the foam with them, which made it a bit more difficult as I felt I might damage the foam casing.
To use, the mouse feels quite heavy with all the weights in, but still glides smoothly on a majority of surfaces. It is highly responsive and the dpi range of the sensor is extraordinary. The default settings I found to be slightly too slow for my personal taste so I had to update them to suit me.
