CM Storm Sentinel Advance II Gaming Mouse Review
Tim Mammatt / 12 years ago
In summary, the mouse provided by Cooler Master under the CM Storm brand follows in the footsteps of the Sentinel Advance and really displays the company’s dedication of listening to fans and users and implementing the improvements needed, improving the sensor, the OLED screen and doubling the onboard memory.
The mouse was very enjoyable to use, and really made you feel like you had an extraordinary piece of equipment in your hand. Cooler Master have really worked hard to make the mouse as customisable and as useful as possible, with a wide array of functions and flexibility in what the mouse can do through the use of the included software.
The software however was a bit of a let-down: while it was easy to set up different DPI settings and so on, it became quite complicated and a bit confusing to use to set up macros and scripts for the first time, with a few illogical steps to get them actually working on the mouse with the lack of a decent tutorial or instructions. The original sentinel advance also suffered from OLED burn in on its screen, whether the Sentinel Advance II does or not is still to be found out but Cooler Master have implemented measures in the way of a screensaver to try and counteract this result.
With an RRP of $59.99 this mouse is a must if you were thinking about a replacement as the customisation is incredible and the performance also matches. The Sentinel Advance II has delivered everything a person could wish for in a gaming mouse with a few added extras in the form of the OLED screen and the ability to store up to 8 profiles on the mouse to take around with you.
It is with this in mind that we have awarded the Sentinel Advance II the Gamers Choice Award.
