CM Storm Sentinel III Ergonomic RGB Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Price

Cooler Master have always been known for great quality and competitive prices, and the Sentinel III is no exception. This mouse is an absolute bargain with an RRP of just £39.99 inc VAT. Unfortunately, I don’t have retail links, as the mouse isn’t available until mid-December (at the latest), but we will endeavour to update it with links as soon as possible. Until then, we advise you check with your favourite retailer for availability, as you should see pre-order links very soon.

Overview

Cooler Master have a lot to be proud about with their new Sentinel III gaming mouse. The previous entries in the Sentinel series were obviously popular, otherwise we wouldn’t be having a third entry in the series, but where the previous mice excelled, the Sentinel III goes even further.

The ergonomics on this mouse are fantastic, with a shape that proves beneficial to multiple grip types and hand sizes. The rigid body feels durable and the hard-wearing rubber on the mouse buttons adds even more grip and durability overall. Add to that a braided cable, gold-plated USB header, a weight tuning system, RGB lighting and that rather fantastic OLED display and you’re going to be just as baffled as me how this mouse only costs £39.99!

The little OLED is crazy, I’ve seen similar features before, but this one is a little ahead of the competition and being able to add your own custom logo to it just seals the deal for those who like personalisation. The RGB lighting isn’t overly prominent, but I’m not one for having a peripheral that looks like a disco ball, so I rather like the subtle effect on offer here.

The sensor performance wins overall, beating the RGB lighting, the OLED display, the braided cable, even the exceptional build quality, as even without those features, I would be happy to pay the asking price for this mouse for its rock solid core performance. Gaming and working is a joy and you’ll struggle to find anything with more features for the same or even less money.

Pros

  • Exceptional build quality
  • Great ergonomics (right hand only)
  • TX Shift
  • OLED display
  • On-mouse sensor calibration
  • Great sensor performance
  • Very competitive price
  • Weight tuning system
  • RGB lighting

Cons

  • None

“Exceptional performance and build quality are the only reasons you need to purchase this mouse. The addition of RGB lighting, a customisable OLED display, TX shift and so much more are simply the cherry on top of an already fantastic gaming mouse.”
