CM Storm Sentinel Z3RO-G Gaming Mouse Review

SoftwareThe software on this mouse is the most advanced I have ever seen. CM Storm obviously takes their customisation seriously. You can also store the profiles on your mouse so no matter what computer you use it on, it will retain your own settings. Upon opening the software it asks whether you would like optimise the sensor for FPS or RTS gaming.
Upon opening the driver software, you will be greeted with a rather daunting main screen. This is where you can adjust the main settings such as what the buttons do, DPI settings and USB report rate. This is where you will be spending most of your time adjusting settings! The page is well packed full of options that may be quite daunting when you first see it, but it doesn’t take long to get used to it.
On the next page you will see a much simpler screen that allows you to individually set the colours for the top and front lights. I like multiple colour options as it allows you to match it with your keyboard or case colour scheme. You can set the lights to standard, breathing or rapid fire’ which flashes on your mouse click. Further down you are given the option to upload your own clan tag or logo to the mouse. You are quite limited as to what you can upload as it must be a 32×32 monochromatic bitmap so you will either have to make your own logo or download a specially made one from the internet. It is a shame you cannot utilise the entire screen where the Shattered Horizon’ logo is displayed normally as this would give you a lot more scope to include proper sized logos such as our own.
The rest of the pages are dominated by various macro methods. You have the option of writing a script or recording a macro. You can also use CM’s Storm Tactics which gives you even more advanced options such as execution scheduling.
