CM Storm Xornet II RGB Optical Gaming Mouse

Final Thoughts

Price

At the time of writing, the Xornet II was not yet available from any of our preferred retailers, but we expect stock to appear any day now, so please feel free to check with your favourite stores for stock. Now comes the second time I pick my jaw off the floor. The MSRP of the Xornet two is just £19.99 (inc VAT) and that is honestly, quite simple, amazing!

Overview

The Xornet II is one of the coolest mice I’ve ever used, it’s really that good! The performance on this little thing certainly took me by surprise, as the sensor is one of the best we’ve ever tested, and that’s going to bring real-world benefits to your daily work and gaming routine. Hitting those all important headshots, photo editing and much more are a joy with this sensor.

The switches are snappy and responsive, allowing for fast and accurate clicks. This is especially great in fast-paced games and will help a lot in MOBA/RTS/FPS style games. Add to that the sublime ergonomics and grip that this mouse offers, and you’re well on your way to feeling more connected to your favourite digital endeavour.

The glide of this mouse is also some of the best in its class. There’s only two slipmats on the base, but they are quite simple huge and short of a polished ice mouse mat, you’ll struggle to find anything more nimble than the Xornet II.

The software is simple enough to use, but very nicely designed. It allows you to tweak button configurations and sensor performance with ease, meaning you can quickly tailor the mouse to suit your needs. There may only be a single RGB lit area on the mouse, the scroll wheel, but that’s still a nice little bonus to have.

The real winner here, however, is the price; if you can find a better mouse than this, for equal or less money, let me know.

Pros

  • Exceptional sensor performance
  • Excellent ergonomics (for right hand use only)
  • Fully programmable buttons
  • Easy to use software
  • Fast and responsive switches
  • Side grips
  • Effortless glide
  • Adjustable lift-off height
  • Durable cable
  • Fiercely competitive price

Cons

  • None

“The CM Storm Xornet II Optical Gaming Mouse is quite simply one of the best mice I’ve ever used. It’s cheap enough to appeal to a wide range of users, and versatile enough for everything from day-to-day office work to competitive eSports.”
