ASRock is announcing the launch of their newly revised DeskMini GTX/RX barebones mini-PCs. Now they are sporting Z370 chipsets and support the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processors. Inside, it uses the new Z370M-STX MXM motherboard from ASRock with a discrete GPU on the MXM slot. The Mini-STX form factor measures only 140 x 147mm, which is 3/4 smaller than the 170 x 170 mini-ITX. This allows the build to fit inside a 2.7 liter size system (213 x 154.5 x 81.9mm).
In terms of components, the motherboard supports 8th generation Intel Core Celeron, Pentium, i3, i5 or i7 processors with a max TDP of 65W. There are two SO-DIMM slots open, supporting up to 32GB of non-ECC memory. Since it has a Z370 chipset, that means that users can actually overclock it unlike the original B250-based DeskMini GTX. ASRock has also improved the VRM now with a 5+1 phase design on the motherboard.
The MXM slot supports Type A, Type B and Type B+ components. Users can choose also between a GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 or a GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X version bundle. An RX 580 option is also available.
As for connectivity, there are actually two SATA 6G ports with power connectors, and has M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe or SATA support for 2260 or 2280 M.2 drives. A Key E 2230 M.2 slot is also present for the Wi-Fi + BT module. An Intel Gigabit i219V LAN also provides hardwired network support, while a Realtek ALC233 codec handles audio.
The barebones version costs $1,650 USD. ASRock did not reveal prices for the GTX 1060, GTX 1080 and RX 580 prices yet.
