Even though AMD has stolen a bit of the spotlight with their RX 480, the GTX 1070 launch continues to roll out. After releasing their Founders Edition GTX 1070 and custom GTX 1080 cards, Colorful is announcing their first custom GTX 1070 models. These are the Colorful iGame GTX1070 X-TOP-8G, Colorful iGame GTX1070 U-TOP-8G graphics cards.
While Colorful hasn’t revealed any core clock speeds yet, I expect strong factory overclocks out of the box. The X-TOP is likely higher clocked than the U-TOP but we’re awaiting confirmation on that point. Combined with the new cooler and iGame branding, these cards are sure to be overclocking powerhouses. The cards also feature an 8+2 VRM power phase.
The biggest and most appealing change in my mind is the new iGame-Modular Structure Design. This separates the cooler and the shroud as distinct components. This means users can take off the shroud and mod it to their heart’s content without compromising the cooling capacity. With the rise of 3-D printing, it will be relatively simple for users to draw up new designs, print them out and then easily swap out the loo without having to painstakingly remove the cooler every time.
We can expect these cards to arrive sometime near the end of the month.
