Unlike other manufacturers that have chosen to release a massive number of GTX 1080 cards, Colorful is keeping it simple. The Colorful iGameGTX1080 X-TOP-8G will stand alone as their only custom GTX 1080 solution at launch. With an MSRP of $649, Colorful is offering much better value than the Founders Edition and with better performance to boot.
First off, the iGame GTX 1080 features a factory overclock, with a boost clock of 1847Mhz. For now, there is no word on the base clock but I suspect it is in the 1700’s. The card also comes with iGame’s new triple-fan cooler with the latest i-MSD. The new three-piece grooved design with zigzag diversion lines for the heatsink improved air volume by 30% for extra cooling performance.
Colorful has chosen to separate the cooling and aesthetic components for the heatsink with their latest design. This means users can create their own designs, take off the stock design elements and customize their card easily. This means when do go and mod the card, you won’t be compromising the cooling performance and the modularity makes it that much easier to mod. Given all of these changes, I can’t wait to see the card at Computex and for someone to take it all apart.
