We’re all for a bit of creative freedom in the character creation, which is why we’re happy to see that the new Conan Exiles from Funcom comes with quite a lot of both. The game features pretty comprehensive character editing, right down to the family jewels. The game uses sliders to allow you to adjust breast size and male endowment and comes with all the body physics required to make sure you come out swinging with whatever you choose to be packing.
OK so we’re being a little childish here with the “haha the game has penises in it”, but in all honesty, I’m amazed more games haven’t really had these kinds of options more often. The game features pretty extreme violence, as do a lot of games for that matter. So why can we have that, but still feel the need to cover up the bodies in an already adult rated game?
The team over at PCGamer (see the Tweets below) seemed to be having a lot of fun putting the new physical and physics aspects of the character design system through its paces, but hey, that’s creative freedom for ya!
It’s fun to see the developers making good use of the physics engine in Unreal Engine 4, and we’re sure it’s going to lead to some pretty hilarious in-game antics in the coming months. One thing is for sure, the game really nails that whole tribal warrior vibe, and with the game hitting Steam Early Access soon, we’re eager to try out the actual gameplay, not just the endowment slider.
