Compact LG ProBeam Projector Boasts 2,000 Lumen Brightness Range

LG has unveiled the compact LG ProBeam Projector, their latest display solution for those who have a smaller space but want a large display. The LG ProBeam is one of the most compact consumer laser projectors available and it is also the industry’s lightest HD laser projector at only 2.1kg. The design is slim, sleek and much more portable than typical projectors. What makes the LG ProBeam (model number HF80JA) even more interesting is that it is equipped with LG’s I-shaped laser-phosphor light engine capable of a brightness range up to 2,000 lumens. Current LED projectors in the market max out at around ~1000 lumens even though they are specced for up to 1400 lumens. This is why projectors require a significantly darker room such as dedicated home theaters with black-out curtains so that the display is viewable. With 2,000 lumens, LG claims users can have a similar HDTV viewing experience right on their living room with the LG ProBeam.

The sleek and compact design also allows it to be non-obtrusive in the living room and can sync up wirelessly to any Bluetooth audio solution for a greater home theater experience without the worry of running wires around. The ProBeam projector has wireless mirroring feature which allows users to take advantage of Miracast to project content straight from their mobile device.  Like LG’s SmartTV line, the ProBeam will come equipped with LG’s WebOS Smart TV platform so streaming services are also readily such as NetFlix, Hulu or Amazon without hooking up a 3rd-party device such as a Chromecast.

The LG ProBeam is just one of the company’s upcoming showcase features at CES 2017. They are also scheduled to debut several 4K and HDR monitors and displays at the LG Booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center – Center Hall booth 11100 from January 5 – 8.
