One thing is certain, this years computex has seen the Mini ITX and Mini ATX markets explode with new products, BitFenix may have started somewhat of a mini revolution with the prodigy but it’s clear after this week that there are countless options out there tailored towards just about every corner of the market. Antec seems to be heading for the HTPC market with the ISK 600, but the chassis (pictured above) would no doubt look just as good sat on your desk.
It’s pretty well equipped and with room for a few hard drives and a large GPU, full size ATX PSU and a mini ITX motherboard there is more than enough room in here for a decent power gaming rig too.
The SSD mounts are slot loading and screw directly to the metal plate, putting them at the top front of the chassis, out of the way of the GPU and other components.
An extension cable runs through the chassis for the front PSU mount and there is a native USB 3.0 header in there too.
A large fan mount on the back, some ventilated expansion slot covers and some air inlets on the side of the front panel should help keep things cool.
It might not be the coolest design ever, but it’s got a certain understated vibe about it, which is perfect for a HTPC chassis as with it being next to your TV you don’t want it catching your eye every two seconds, but you don’t want it to look rubbish either.
One thing is for certain, the build quality look fantastic and Antec has a solid reputation for good construction and reliability, lets just hope the get the pricing right at launch. Well have more details for you about this chassis in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
