Computex: ASUSTOR Exhibit 3 Series 302T and 304T NAS Devices

When it comes to the NAS market we are used to hearing about Synology, Thecus, QNAP, Patriot and so on, yet when we visited Computex today ASUSTOR were putting on a pretty big and impressive display of NAS products which we stopped by to take a closer look at. ASUSTOR were exhibiting an extensive range of NAS devices but first we popped over to have a look at the 3 Series of ASUSTOR NAS devices which comprises of the two bay 302T and four bay 304T. And yes ASUSTOR are a subsidiary of ASUSTEK aka ASUS.

The ASUSTOR 302T and 304T NAS devices are both powered by the latest generation of Intel System On Chips which have dual core Atom processors paired up with 1GB of SODIMM DDR3 RAM. Other features include HDMI out, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, LAN and an IR received to allow these NAS devices to act as an entertainment centre. ASUSTOR say that these NAS boxes are capable of supporting 3TB drives but maybe a future update will bring 4TB drive support.

Expect ASUSTOR to start selling these units soon after Computex finishes. The ASUSTOR three series is just a notch below the ASUSTOR six series which we went and took a quick look at next.

Stay tuned to eTeknix for more Computex coverage in our Computex section.
