Since releasing its first power supply quite some time ago EVGA has rapidly expanded its power supply line and at Computex they showed us an extensive selection of these. First up they graced us with the “big daddy”, the EVGA 1300 G2 SuperNova 80 Plus Gold power supply. This has a semi passive design (the fan shuts off under idle loads) and as you can see from the image it features a fully modular design. This is a brand new power supply design that is only just finding its way to market and it has an MSRP of about $229.99. EVGA are using Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors and a high amperage multi-rail design.
Next up they showed us the already released EVGA SuperNova G2 1000 power supply which is also 80 Plus Gold rated. Again it features a fully modular design, the same Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors and a Sanyo Denki Ball Bearing fan just like the SuperNova 1300 G2. EVGA are also offering an extensive 10 year warranty with this unit and it costs around $189.99.
Next up is another new addition from EVGA to their power supply line, the EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 power supply. As the transition from a G to a P suggests we now have 80 Plus Platinum certification with this power supply in addition to a fully modular design. We don’t have any pricing details on this unit yet but it has the same Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors, Sanyo Denki Ball Bearing fan and 10 year warranty as the other two power supplies above.
Finally we have EVGA’s attempt at creating a budget unit. It has 80 Plus Gold certification, a non modular design and uses a single 12 volt rail. This unit will likely have a price that is sub $80.
