Computex: MSI Exhibits GE40 “Dragon Eyes” Gaming Notebook

MSI has come out with a fresh new take on the GE40 gaming notebook. Firstly it is opting for a dramatically more portable design with just an inch thickness and a weight of less than 2KG. However, the main selling point is the new “Dragon Eyes” design feature, and this is literally as it sounds.

On the rear of the MSI GE40 you have some styled LED lighting that forms the effect of a pair of dragon eyes. There is also a relatively nice brushed finish on the GE40 that sets off the whole design quite well.

The specifications of the notebook are very reasonable given its slim and portable nature. The display is 14 inches with a 1600 by 900 resolution and a non glare finish. The CPU is an Intel Haswell Mobile Core i7 4072MQ which runs at 2.2GHz base block and 3.2GHz turbo. It has four cores, eight threads and a 35W TDP. The GPU is courtesy of Nvidia with a GTX 760M and 2GB of GDDR5.  There is 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 750GB mechanical hard, Super RAID with two 128GB mSATA  SSDs and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi to provide wireless connectivity.

MSI also include Audio Boost and Matrix display technology.
