Tropical islands, space stations, distant planets, they’ve all been our homes for months now as more and more games look to give you control over your fate. Build a hut and hunt for your food or rule over an empire from a castle with dinosaurs or spaceships exerting your power over your fellow players. A new contestant has entered the battlefield in the form of Conan Exiles, a game which will do everything from tribal warfare in the desert to kicking sand into your eyes to help or hinder your growth.
Scheduled for early release on September 13th, Conan Exiles will be released on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox one and will feature everything from your classic spear and shield hunting weapons to full on gore and apparently giant snakes. In the first gameplay trailer, we not only see all of the above but also explosions, lots, and lots of explosions. These show off the games destruction, meaning that giant stone wall you’ve built might not be the best defence.
With a whole host of new systems set for the game, including the creation of a religion system, a thrall system, and even a purge system the game looks to expand on the now familiar gameplay setting, although many of these may not make it into the early access. In a question regarding staleness in these games, the purge system provided an answer many seek. With NPC armies attacking, your best defence may be tricking them to your enemies base instead or an explosion or two.
