Overall not a bad year ahead, even with very few games announced or given set dates it’s still looking promising for us gamers in 2012. I am however concerned that while I had plenty to choose from for the PS3 and multi-format, the same couldn’t be said about the Xbox 360 exclusives, but unfortunately that’s all that has been announced on the Xbox 360 this year, yup that’s right all 2 of them, at least for now anyway, while we do have some Kinect games on the way, in my opinion they aren’t worth mentioning and any that are haven’t been confirmed or given release dates.
I haven’t covered the Wii here, as there just isn’t any new exclusives announced due to the impending arrival of the Wii-U, but expect an update as soon as we have news on either.
I’m sure we can all expect annual updates to the usual franchises, Need for Speed, Fifa, Call of Duty, and the likes, but I didn’t write this article to state the obvious. You don’t have to look hard through this year’s release schedule to see there is some great new IP’s and some long awaited sequels blessing our consoles of choice this year, let’s hope this is a trend that continues through till Christmas, as 2011 was possibly this generations crown jewel in terms of quality games and will take some serious effort from developers to beat.
