Consoles Could Delay Kingdom Come: Deliverance PC Release

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set for release this summer by developer Warhorse Studios, and if what we’ve seen of the game so far is anything go by, it can’t come soon enough! The game is already looking absolutely amazing, but it seems that those of us eager to play it may have a longer wait on their hands than expected. Warhorse Studios have been in talks with some publishers, and it looks like the PC release of their upcoming RPG epic may have to be held back by the console version of the game.

“The idea was to release the game in the summer and then to follow up with the console versions. Right now we are still indie developers but we are in negotiations with publishers to, well, we need someone to bring the games into the shops, so we need a distributor, and he kind of wants us to synch it with the console versions. We are still in negotiations, we will see.” said PR Manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling.

This isn’t great news for PC gamers, especially given that the game was on Kickstarter and funds were raised for it based on it being a PC focused title. Of course, the developers will be looking for their best return on investment, so hopefully the delay means they’re not wanting to half-arse the PC edition, but get all up to scratch by release time.

“Best case for you will be summer this year for the PC version and then with the follow-up for consoles; or if the publisher wants us to synch it we will release everything let’s say by the end of the year, so we will see about that.” added Tobias.
