A Closer Look

The 212 isn’t the most amazing looking cooler ever, but it’s not exactly ugly either. For a budget cooler, it’s certainly presentable and the quality of the fan on the front certainly adds a lot with its LED lighting and transparent black blades.

The cooling tower is quite slim, which should greatly improve compatibility with taller ram modules, and while it’s fairly plain in terms of design, it also looks neat and tidy and should blend in with most builds with ease.

There are four heat pipes in total, each passing through the left and right side of the tower in a “U” shape.

The edges of the pipes are exposed at the top, which I think looks pretty cool and there’s a nicely finished top plate with the CM logo stamped on to finish it off.

The heat pipes are fitted through an aluminium block and cut flat for direct contact with the CPU. It’s cheap and cheerful method of getting the job done, but it’s also one of the most reliable too.
