Cooler Master, a name renown worldwide, has recently introduced a new series of power supply succeeding the Silent Pro M series: the Silent Pro M2 series. In this new series a couple of improvements were made in order to meet the demands of mainstream users and enthusiasts alike.
Build for quality and performance, this series uses a single powerful 12V rail that boasts a significant increase in available amperage per power supply model over its predecessors. The increase in power extends to 80A on the 1000W model. A new 3.3v DC-to-DC board also increases overall energy efficiency.
Through the use of the newer high quality capacitors, vastly improved hold up times of >23 ms on the 1000 W model were reached. Thanks to this, the Silent Pro M2 series can handle peak loads better than ever before by delivering power with minimal interruptions. Its new specifications include RoHS and ERP 2010 Certification for a more eco-friendly design and power efficiency.
Even the 135 mm fan has been improved, now making use of a durable Hydraulic Dynamic Bearing, increasing the overall fan lifespan and reducing the noise. Through these numerous upgrades, the Silent Pro M2 series PSUs can handle the increasing loads of today’s systems while reducing overall energy consumption.
In order to give an easier maintenance and installation to both new and experienced costumers, the Silen Pro M2 series is fitted with a semi-modular cable system, allowing the basic connections to be made, while leaving extra connection to be added.
This new design also helps in upgrading, allowing the simple disconnection of the modular cables directly from the PSU while leaving only the need for only the hardwired cables to be pulled.
Additionally, the cabled have been extended and flattened to provide users with ample length and clearance to reach parts throughout the chassis.
Set to become available in March, the Silent Pro M2 series PSUs come in various models ranging from 420W to 1000W, with five of them featuring 80 Plus Bronze certification (420, 520, 620 & 720W) and two featuring 80 Plus Silver certification(850 & 1000W).
