Cooler Master @ Computex 2023

Another busy day at Computex 2023 took us to the impressive-looking Cooler Master booth, where they had plenty of cool new products and quite a few current ones on display for everyone to check out. The first thing that really grabbed my attention was this Cooling X PC build, which isn’t a mod, but an actual fully ready Cooler Master PC that comes in a tiny form factor but packs some pretty serious hardware.

The case is just 14.8L in size and looks like a mini version of their legendary Cosmos Series of cases, which I absolutely love. Yet as I said, don’t be fooled by the small size, as it’s packing an AMD Ryzen 9 7950 X3D, which is incredibly powerful. It also features an equally potent RTX 4080 graphics card!

However, despite the high-end hardware, it has a maximum noise output of just 28 dB, thanks to its integrated 240mm liquid cooling system and liquid chamber side panel to ensure it can dissipate heat very easily.

No word on the price, but this is a real contender to go against the Corsair One mini PC for sure.

The now well-known shoe build was on display too, which was revealed before Computex, so I won’t dive into too much detail, but seeing it in person reassured me that 1) it’s much bigger than I thought, and 2) pretty silly too.

I’m not sure who will buy this one, as it’s meant to be pretty expensive, but I do love to see brands get a little creative too, and this certainly fits that bill.

Which looks better, the white and blue or the red version?

Next up there’s the new MK770 Space Grey keyboard, which features a new gasket structure, hybrid wireless technology for Type-C, 2.4Ghz, and Bluetooth 5.1, as well as the latest Kailh Box V2 mechanical switches. There are also PBT double shot keycaps, so as is always the case with Cooler Master keyboards, it feels really robust.

The MM712 Pro gaming mouse, again, features 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.1, with Type-C charging too. Its lightweight design comes in at just 56 grams, and it features the latest ultra-fast polling technology for up to 8kHz polling in wired and 4 kHz in wireless via the dongle. If that’s not enough it even has the flagship PAW3395 sensor, giving it up to 26000 DPI tracking and optical switches rated for 70M clicks.

They also had wired versions of these keyboards and the mouse, in really funky colours for some reason, I quite like it, but perhaps not to everyone’s taste.

Next up, it’s coolers, with the latest Hyper 212 Halo White showing there’s still much life in the 212 series yet, even after all these years! It features a new design of Halo2 Fan, which has dual loop LEDs for better lighting, and an improved airflow design.

The radiator now has a four heatpipe design with all the hardware finished in white, giving it a very striking aesthetic. It’s 154mm tall, so more suitable for wider chassis, and their new brackets make installation easier than ever too; having tested the new bracket, I can confirm that’s true.

The MasterFan MF140 Halo2 White fan (top right), features the new dual loop LED design, bigger fan blades, a hybrid frame design, and a new Driver IC for better performance and lower noise. There’s also their latest Masterliquid 360L Core ARGB AIO, which features incremental upgrades to the pump, radiator, and thermal paste, which should help it outperform the older model.

Finally, they have the new Qube 500, no that’s not a typo, but this is a unique case in that it comes… flat-packed. Well, I say unique, In Win has something broadly similar this year too, but hey, they’re both cool.

You buy it disassembled, and it allows you to more easily customize the case along the way, and really be part of the build process. I would imagine it makes shipping it a lot easier too, as it would drastically reduce the volume required, which I absolutely approve of.
