Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced M-ITX PC Chassis Review

Installation of the components was a lot more straightforward than I thought it would be, the PSU placement was a little tricky to deal with, but overall the whole system only took me around 20min to install and I still managed to keep things relatively tidy within the chassis, as you can see I have opted to take a few photos with the graphics card removed so that you can see how things are laid out inside the case, a lot of the cable management I must admit was handled by not installing an optical drive, leaving the whole bay to cater for all my excess cable from the PSU, but had I installed an optical drive you could work a lot of magic with some extra cable ties in the bottom of the chassis between the ram and the hard drive docks thanks to the tie down hooks that are on the chassis body. Our Akasa fan is also helping keep things as low profile as possible too, giving us ample clearance from the PSU and the motherboard and a clean airflow throughout the chassis.

Around the other side of the chassis you can see I have had to bundle some cables up on the left with a few cable ties, doesn’t look especially tidy, but they are well out the way of any fans and still leaves plenty of room for access to the quick release drive bays and more than enough room for air flow, as you can see I have installed our 120GB Kingston SSD in the bottom drive tray using some Akasa slim SATA cables where required to save as much space as possible.

Now that the graphics card is installed you can see just how much clearance there actually is within the chassis, with ample room for out GTX 560Ti and it’s power cables, installation of the graphics card was extremely easy.

finally with the chassis back in one piece, you can see our graphics cards twin fans are aimed straight at the side of the chassis and its vents, giving excellent breathing room for the card.

Around the back things look a lot busier, without Antec PSU dominating most of the space here, but again with some extra ventilation slots cut between the PSU and the motherboard back-plate offering even more airflow through the chassis, in a chassis this small this is a vital addition and a welcome one at that.
