How Much Does it Cost?

I could not see stock for the Cooler Master GM27-FQS ARGB Gaming Monitor at the time of writing, but hey, you know what the modern world is like, these things change in a heartbeat. However, you can check out the official Cooler Master store on Amazon here. Cooler Master gives the GM27-FQS ARGB Gaming Monitor an MSRP of £349.99 inc VAT, however, that’s subject to some change, but I wouldn’t expect it to be more than +/- £20 either way. That’s actually a really good price too, it’s certainly competitive with what’s on the market, but very good value given the features and performance on offer.

Overview

Cooler Master has a few monitors on the market now, but this is the first one I’ve had the pleasure of using myself. Really, it’s a solid product that delivers a lot of great features in return for a surprisingly modest investment. At this price range, a lot of monitors can still look a little bland. However, Cooler Master has arguably created one of the best looking designs on the market today. The stand is sublime, with a compact, yet durable and very unique design that wouldn’t look out of place in a nice office or even in an eSports arena. However, I give a huge thumbs up for the slim bezel design on all four sides of the panel.

The panel just owns it here, obviously, it’s the most important part of the monitor anyway, so that’s a good thing. The resolution is ideal for this size of a panel, and the image is nice and clear. The IPS panel has a very fast response time, a high refresh rate, and FreeSync Premium, so the image is superbly clear and doesn’t suffer from ghosting issues, even when things are moving fast. However, moving fast or standing still, things looks stunning thanks to the extended colour range, with greens and reds looking incredibly rich, and make my own work monitor look a little drab in comparison… time for an upgrade for me!

The ergonomics are spot on too, with an easily adjustable stand that allows for quick angle and height adjustments. Of course, the built-in portrait mode scores extra points for Cooler Master too, as being able to work on documents in this mode is wonderful. Plus, I play a lot of retro arcade shooters, and portrait mode is ideal for those (albeit, I doubt many others do this).

Should I Buy One?

I really can’t find a fault with it, it’s a very nice monitor in every regard. There are higher resolution, higher refresh rate panels with even better colours out there. However, at this price range, the Cooler Master GM27-FQS ARGB Gaming Monitor is really impressive with a range of features that impress, and rock-solid performance overall. While some rivals may match what it has to offer, at this price range, it’s going to take a serious effort to find anything better.
