Calibration

Using the stock settings, and in SDR mode, the monitor is right on the money. I would point out that you’re unlikely to get a much higher P3 level of colour in SDR mode, as most SDR content is mastered in Rec. 709 for TV/Movies while PCs typically use sRGB and they’re very well covered here. However, for HDR content, which is more commonly mastered in DCI-P3, you’ll be getting up 98% coverage, and that’s pretty exceptional, with many modern gaming monitors offering more like 80-something% to low maybe low 90s at best. You wouldn’t think a few % would make a big difference, but you can certainly see if with your eyes when you first start using this monitor.

Right on the 2.2 Gamma, but the monitor has five gamma settings that all proved to be accurate.

A really smooth grey ramp here with a pretty small deviation overall, but a pretty excellent result overall.

The colour accuracy out of the box was excellent, with only some minor tweaking required. I think the high black levels are simply an error in the results, the backlight technology is pretty active and screwed with that. However, turning the backlight down did help, and I preferred it set to around 30% SDR and 50% HDR. Furthermore, I set the colour tone to warm and found it much more pleasing to the eye overall, but that is subjective.

I did run a LOT more tests but with the backlight dimming off, the screen is washed out and with it on, the white point and uniformity testing is looking worse than it should, likely due to various backlighting changes happening while readings are being taken, but in person and to my eyes, it’s bloody excellent.
