Cooler Master continues to tease new photos for products that will be showcased at Computex 2017 next week. Four days ago, three new products in the form of two heatsinks and a mini-ITX case were shown. This time, Cooler Master posted photos of a new mouse, a fanless PSU, a liquid-cooling block and what could possibly be the return of the HAF series. The photo above was posted on Cooler Master’s Facebook page with the simple caption “three letters…”, which highly suggests the return of the popular high-airflow case series. Aside from the return of the iconic COSMOS case, the return of the HAF series adds some interesting new options beyond the similar looking MasterCase and MasterBox series.
The new HAF series case still appears to follow along the MasterCase design style. It is also likely that it will share the FreeForm modular system of the MasterCase series, having interchangeable parts. Much of the original HAF series took design cues from the military and looks bulky, but the new line has a more angular look similar to the MasterCase series. Since Cooler Master teased with only a single photo, it is not clear yet whether more than one HAF series case will be on display or if this is an entire product line. There are four USB ports at the front which suggests this new chassis is a flagship full-tower model.
The new design actually reminds me slightly of the Cougar’s PANZER MAX full-tower case unveiled last year at Computex.
Cooler Master also teased a slick-looking chrome finished water-block. It has metal compression fittings with a transparent tube. So this could be either Cooler Master’s foray into full-blown DIY water-cooling or simply a new expandable AIO. The latter is the safer guess. DIY water-cooling significantly increased in popularity over the past year however, so it is not completely surprising. Thermaltake for example offers an entire array of DIY water-cooling parts with their Pacific line. As long as Cooler Master uses copper radiators instead of aluminium like Thermaltake, it could be a big success.
The teaser does not provide much information to go by, so we will have to wait until Computex 2017 to find out.
This one is self-explanatory. It is a power supply without a fan. It is actually surprising that Cooler Master never had one before. All other manufacturers have toyed with the idea and have released a model or two that are completely fanless. Cooler Master has had hybrid cooling PSUs for a while however, which shut off the fan under low loads. The interesting thing about this photo however is the fact that this seems to be a high-end power supply unit. Without the fan blocking the view, two large capacitors are visible which can store a lot of energy. Also, assuming that the logo is at the center of the power supply grille, this means that this power supply is most likely 180 to 200mm long. Power supplies that are 1000W to 1500W are often that big.
This power supply will be shown at Computex 2017, so hopefully Cooler Master displays a disassembled view like they did with the MasterWatt last year.
The latest photo teased by Cooler Master for Computex 2017 is a darkened photo of a gaming mouse. Casual users are not going to be able to read much into it. Because of the angle, it is difficult to asses the actual shape of the mouse but it appears to be a longer palm-grip type. It appears to be using a fully LED lit scroll-wheel similar to the CM Xornet II mouse, but the body shape appears to be much more identical to the CM Alcor/Mizar. The CM Alcor’s body takes cues from the Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0. This body design also influenced many other popular gaming mice such as the Razer Deathadder. The new mouse has a honey comb pattern on the left side instead of a rubberized are for grip with the CM Xornet.
