Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler Review

Cooler Master’s regular packaging style is used for the Hyper 212 EVO. The CPU socket support, item name and some main features exist alongside an image of the cooler on the box’s front side.

The rear of the box outlines the cooler’s 4 main features as well as its detailed dimensions in the form of annotated images.

General specifications such as weight, fan speed and noise level are situated on the side of the packaging.

Cooler Master supply a bundle consisting of an extended installation manual, a cut-down installation manual, a warranty leaflet, an extra pair of fan mounts for dual fan configurations, 4 rubber anti-vibration dampers and screws to be used with a second fan, a tube of thermal paste, a universal backplate and the mounting hardware. A noise reduction adapter is not included to keep costs low and because it isn’t required thanks to the fan’s PWM connection.

  1. I think most people look for good cooling with a good price and quite at the same time. The 212 EVO sounds ok, but after this review I may be inclined to get the 212 Plus just for that reason.

    1. Both are great choices in terms of price, performance and acoustics. The choice depends upon preference. Some people may want the better performance of the 212 Plus whereas some may want the quieter operation of the 212 EVO.

  3. Your review is erroneous. The EVO's fan runs at between 600-2000 RPM, not 1600 as you stated, the same as the Plus. It has a greater CFM rating however, 24.9 – 82.9 compared to the Plus at 21.2 – 76.8. Also any other benchmark I have seen puts the EVO a few, to many, degrees ahead of the Plus. All statistics, except benchmark results, come directly from Cooler Master's website.
