Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim CPU Cooler Review

In the stock tests the Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim held up really well against more expensive competitors. In part this is probably down to the implementation of dual 120mm fans that obviously shifts more air than the single fan Mugen 3 and Dark Rock Advanced. Given this CPU cooler’s price point, if you’re not overclocking or do not have an overclockable processor then this shows there really is no reason to buy anything more expensive as this will do the job perfectly.

Once our i5 3570K started to pump our a bit more heat at 1.3v with a 4.5GHz clock speed we see the Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim fall behind – but it doesn’t fall by that much. Given the cheaper price point I am utterly impressed it managed the best idle temperatures and was only slightly slower than the more expensive Mugen 3. Obviously acoustic performance is important to situating these results appropriately, so lets take a look at those next.
