Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim CPU Cooler Review

The Cooler Master Hyper 412 Slim is the loudest of the CPU coolers we’ve tested by a tiny amount but lets face it – with 2 fans compared to one on both the Mugen 3 and Dark Rock Advanced, the acoustics are pretty good.

Once overclocking kicks in the fans ramp up a bit and get a fair bit louder. However, the noise is still low. And we aren’t surprised to see the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Advanced win here as its been specifically designed for silence. Its worth pointing out I did have some issues with the Hyper 412 Slim “rattling”. I managed to isolate the problem to the fan mounting system on the left fan, the problem could be fixed by remounting the fans – so if you have the same problem just play around a bit and it should get fixed.
