Cooler Master Hyper 622 Halo Black CPU Cooler Review

I love air coolers, as they’re often very easy to install, low maintenance and more capable than when many AIO and liquid cooling enthusiasts may tell you. I often find they’re a lot quieter than liquid coolers too, despite what people may say. Cooler Master has a long history of impressive CPU coolers too, with their award-winning and long-standing Hyper 212 series, and most recently, one of their AIO coolers blew me away with its performance and very reasonable prices. However, today is about something that’s more in the middle, with the Hyper 622, one of their new high-end air coolers.

Features

With a price of around £60 the Hyper 622 is going against some strong competition, with the DeepCool AG620, Arctic Freezer 34, Noctua NH-U9S, and be quiet! Dark Rock 4 all come in around the same price, all of which are competent performers and have a range of interesting designs too, so Cooler Master needs to have a quality product to even make the shortlist. Thankfully, it seems like they do! It comes with ARGB, gorgeous aluminium top covers, a dual-tower heatsink design, two of their redesigned 120mm Halo2 fans, and a design that ensure it should have pretty broad motherboard, socket and case support too.

  • ARGB Auto Detection: Our intuitive LED detection automatically provides default ARGB spectrum lighting or full ARGB customization via a 3-pin header connection.
  • Dual Redesigned Halo² Fan: The Dual loop LED 120mm Halo² fan not only showcases stunning lighting effects but also offers improved fan performance.
  • Dual Tower Heat Sink: The dual tower heat sink provides double the surface area, resulting in superior cooling performance.
  • Performance Heat Pipes x 6: The nickel-plated base with 6 uniform heat pipes ensures complete CPU coverage and facilitates efficient and rapid heat transfer.
  • Wide Range Compatibility: The low-profile heat pipes, optimized at a height of 157mm, perfectly accommodate the majority of RAM and case requirements.
  • Upgraded Brackets: Redesigned brackets simplify installation on the latest available AM5 and LGA1700 platforms. AMD AM5/AM4,Intel LGA1700 / 1200 / 1151 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156
