Cooler Master is adding a new affordable, no-frills laptop cooler to their lineup called the Notepal L2. The “L” stands for lightweight, since the Notepal L2 is meant to be portable. Despite its compactness and portability, Cooler Master ensures that it can keep notebooks running cool via a 160mm fan in the middle.
The single 160mm fan in the middle also lights up with blue LED, which serves as an indicator when powered on. The entire surface area is mesh, allowing cool air to seep through across the notebook base. The Notepal L2 is also highly comfortable with an 8-degree tilt, giving users reprieve from typing-strained wrists. The body of the Notepal L2 also serves up an extra USB port, right beside the micro-USB power port on top.
The entire assembly weighs only 0.65kg. The fan inside is actually slim, allowing Cooler Master to save space. The use of a larger 160mm fan is also ideal since it can generate plenty of air flow without the baggage of noise. This fan operates at 29dBA max but has an operating range of up to 1400 RPM. It generates 6 to 20 CFM and can cool laptops as big as 17-inches.
Cooler Master does not reveal pricing or availability yet. The Notepal L1 which launched in 2012 currently retails for $29.99 so expect the pricing to be around that.
