If there’s one thing I’ve noticed in recent months, it’s that all the big-name brands are coming for the blood of Noctua. There are whispers, rumours and outright boasting going on behind the scenes in the industry, about how this fan is as good or better than Noctua, or something is cooler, or quieter, and largely, it’s turning out to be true. Noctua still seems to hold the crown for quietness at high loads, but the competition is right up there with them in terms of cooling performance and quality. No wonder there’s a next-gen D15S on the way after more than 10 years of it being king. Now Cooler Master is entering the game, with their MA824 Stealth Dual Fan, a monster dual tower air cooler that costs £99.95, promising big cooling performance and low noise.
It’s certainly well equipped, with two cooling towers, an impressive 8 heatpipe design, dual fans for push and pull airflow throughout the cooler using both a 135mm and 120mm Mobius Series fan of Cooler Masters’s own design and a stealthy all-black design. Actually, not all that different from the extremely impressive DeepCool air cooler I recently tested.
