First impressions of the Maker 8 are very good indeed, this cooler looks pretty slick and while it’s quite large, it’s not really any bigger than other flagship air coolers from brands like Noctua. The Silencio fans look stunning, and the way they’re mounted and blend in with the fan retention brackets shows that Cooler Master really paid a lot of love and attention to their design.
The fan enclosures ensure that airflow goes where it is needed, right through that thick cooling tower. Of course, with two fans in push/pull configuration, we’re going to get a lot of air flow here, even at low RPM, which should result in lower noise too. Of course, you can throw the acoustics out the window and run both fans like crazy if you wanted too; your call.
The symmetrical design of the cooler means that it’ll look great from any angle, but also benefit the aesthetics regardless of which way you choose to orientate it on your motherboard.
The stock top panel is a transparent black, which will allow the internal LED lighting on the top cover to shine through, but there are some more options available to you as you’ll see in a moment.
On the base, you’ll find a huge copper contact plate, which is quite thick to allow for the vapour chamber technology. It also comes with a pre-installed mounting bar, which looks thick and sturdy, and is very securely fitted to the body of the cooler for stability.
