Cooler Master MasterAir Maker 8 CPU Cooler Review

Performance
The Cooler Master MasterAir Maker 8 does a pretty solid job of keeping the CPU nice and cool, clocking in at just +2c idle, and +27 at full load on stock clocks. This puts it alongside the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3, one of the best air coolers on the market today.
We run a pretty savage overclock and voltage setting for testing our coolers here at eTeknix, but the Maker 8 still did a fantastic job of keeping it running like clockwork. At just +47c over ambient, it’s rocking performance that’s comparable to some water coolers, such as the Deepcool Captain 120EX.
The fans didn’t have to work very hard to keep the stock CPU cool, only putting out 37dBa, it was virtually silent. You could comfortably push the fans harder if you wanted and it would still be very quiet.
Another solid result here, with the Maker 8 topping out at 43dBa, still not cause for concern to the likes of Noctua or be quiet! but given the performance it delivered, I’m happy with the scores overall given the overclock we’re using the and temperatures we achieved.
