Cooler Master MasterBox K500 PC Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Cooler Master MasterBox K500 Mid-Tower PC Case is available now with an MSRP of £84.06. However, it’s currently on Amazon for just £69.95 in the UK and $69.99 in the US. I think that is phenomenal value for money. You get tempered glass, great build quality, a built-in RGB controller, RGB fans, RGB front panel, and an RGB power button, ha! That’s value that’s just straight up hard to beat.

Overview

Cooler Master has absolutely smashed it with this one, the K500 represents one of the best looking and best value tempered-glass and RGB combos on the market right now. It has some truly minor flaws, but at this price, they’re easily ignored. Cable grommets would be nice, and a few more HDD mounts, but again, it’s hardly lacking in good cable routing and storage either.

Build Quality

The chassis feels really durable and looks much more expensive than it is. Sure, that front panel design is subjective, but I really like the design. It manages to look very “gamer” but still has a finish to it that looks quite mature and stylish. Plus, they’ve fitted dust filters where you would need them, tool-free HDD bays, and fantastic quality, uhm, fans!

RGB

The lighting is on point here, with quality RGB fans and integration into the front panel. What’s more, the fact that you get a built-in controller means you don’t have to rely on clunky desktop software just to put on a light show. You can turn the lights off too, although when they look this good, I doubt many would want them off that often.

Should I Buy One?

Durable build quality, a unique and stylish front panel design, plentiful RGB lighting, room for high-end hardware, and a gorgeous tempered glass window to show it all off. What’s not to love!? Easily one of my favourite cases in the Cooler Master range right now, and the price isn’t going to hurt your wallet too much either.
