Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 6 Chassis Review

A Closer Look – Interior

To open up this chassis, you’ll need to pull away the rear shroud, which covers up any unsightly screws on the side, and no need to worry, it clips back on in seconds too.

Now that I’ve got the side panel off, I’m treated to a familiar sight, with the interior looking basically the same as the 5-series chassis. This is good news, as the 5’s have one of the best interiors around, and you’ll find a huge mounting cutout behind the motherboard, and plenty of large rubber grommets dotted around to dead with cable routing.

In the top front, there are two 5.25″ drive bays with quick-lock mechanisms. Don’t need the drives? Undo the four thumb screws and you can whip the whole unit out, giving you the full height of the front panel for more HDD bays, or much bigger radiator/fan configurations.

Below the 5.25″ bays, a set of 3 x 3.5″/2.5″ HDD trays, but the cool thing is that the cage can be completely removed via just easily accessible thumb screws. Now, you don’t have to remove it if you don’t want, but you can use the multiple mounting holes to adjust the height it’s installed at, which is pretty cool.

There’s a divider between the lower and upper sections of the chassis, so hiding your PSU and a few HDD’s out of sight is easily done. There’s a good size cut-away at the front though, which will free up the full height of the chassis for those wanting to fit a radiator.

Tucked into the lower section of the chassis, another 2 x 2.5″/2.5″ drive bays, again mounted with quick release thumb screws and completely movable/removable to suit your needs.

Then you’ll find two more 2.5″ drive mounts right on top of the PSU cover, and two most welcome cable routing grommets that are perfect for guiding cables to expansion cards such as your GPU.

All of the expansion slots come with reusable metal covers and thumb screws. Notice how there are no spacer bars between them? You can take them all out and add one of the vertical GPU riser cards (sold separately) if you wish to show off your GPU in style.

At the top, more than enough room to fit a 120/140mm radiator, and there’s already a pre-installed 140mm fan here with comes with some soft red LED lighting (or blue in the blue lighting model of this chassis).

There’s good clearance above the motherboard, and some extra cable routing holes up top too.

Around the back, lots of room for routing cables, and even more so when you consider all that space in the PSU mounting section!

The bottom HDD bays and the top HDD bays use the same mounting system, so if you want to clear the bottom section to make way for a radiator, pumps, or anything else, you can remove or move this HDD bay into the upper section too.

The rubber grommets are of a very good quality and to give you a helping hand, there are multiple cable tie loops dotted around the chassis, as well as these handy velcro straps over a deep cable channel.

The PSU mounting section comes with two long metal rails, each fitted with anti-vibration rubber. Now, that’s all the basics covered, let’s get our system installed!
