Performance

As we say with the MM520, which comes equipped with the very same sensor, the MM530 performs perfectly throughout the whole DPI range. You can configure it from 100 right up to a blazing fast 12000 DPI. When it comes to precision sniping or photoshop edited, it certainly has the accuracy and control. When it comes to extreme turning speeds in FPS games, or spanning huge maps on extreme resolutions or multiple displays, the big DPI count will certainly come in handy. There’s no sign of angle snapping, prediction or jitter at all, which is great news for anyone, but especially competitive gamers.

Software and Features

While you can just plug in this mouse and use it without software, you would be missing out on a lot of cool features. Cooler Master uses a single piece of software for all their new peripherals too, so if you have a keyboard and headset, you can control those from the same suite, making things very easy to configure. The MM530 has 7 fully programmable buttons. However, you can use TactiX shift on any key to elevating to a second tier of controls, giving you even more buttons and macros to play around with.

RGB!

Full RGB lighting is always fun when you want to colour match your peripherals. Of course, it’s also great for setting a colour to each profile so you can tell at a glance if you’re in your LoL profile or your Photoshop profile. Then again, you can just turn them off if RGB isn’t your thing.

Sensor Control

There are four DPI levels to choose from, each offering separate X/Y configuration from 100 to 12000 DPI. you can turn on/off angle snapping, although it’s thankfully off by default. Overall, everything you would expect to find on more expensive products is taken care of here. As you say in my sensor tests, this mouse performs perfectly. Out of the box performance was great, but with a little tweaking you’ll be able to fine tune it to your work process, or to your favourite play style, within just a few minutes.

Here you can tweak double click speed and more. I didn’t feel the need to change them, and the Omron switches are fast and responsive, with a satisfying tactile feedback that works well with frantic FPS gameplay.

There’s a powerful macro editor built-in too. If you play a lot of MMO games, or just like to add a bunch of shortcuts for your emails, these can certainly come in handy. It’s easy to use and configure, and with fully programmable buttons, they’re easy to apply to the MM530.
