Price
The Master Mouse Pro L is a high-end product and has a solid range of features, but it’s still priced pretty competitively. We found it at Amazon for around £60, and while that’s not cheap, it’s still competitive given the overall quality that Cooler Master is offering here.
Overview
The Cooler Master Mastermouse Pro L is a great product, there’s no doubt about it, but it’s not perfect either. Being able to customise the top cover and size panel covers is a welcome bonus, that I’m sure you’ll love, but between the pre-installed set and the extras in the box, I had a hard time seeing much real difference between the two, and feel that they should have differed to a greater degree. That being said, you can download the 3D models and print your own, which is awesome, but how many people are really going to do that? The next issue would be not having a DPI/Profile button behind the mouse wheel, I’m sure some will be fine with this, but the majority of consumers will have grown accustomed to having something there. These aren’t deal breaking issues, more preference than anything, but still worth keeping in mind regardless.
In terms of features, the Mastermouse Pro L has a lot to offer, and the software suite gives you a huge amount of customisation that is sure to appeal to advanced users but is nicely laid out that it’s not going to be scary to newcomers either. The fact that you have virtually limitless profiles through software, and five that you can save on the mouse, macros, lighting, lots of sensor and button customisation and more to play around with is great for those who do a lot of demand work tasks, as well as those who play a huge range of game types.
Build quality is stunning too, and it shows even in the pictures, this is a great looking mouse, and it performs and feels as well made as it looks. The lightly textured finish is gorgeous, and the RGB lighting is set in a way that looks more professional compared to some of the disco stylings we often see in mice.
Pros
- Great build quality
- Panel customisation
- High-quality switches
- Fantastic sensor performance with 12,000 max DPI
- RGB lighting
- Excellent software suite
- Fully programmable switches
Cons
- None
Neutral
- Bottom mounted DPI button, although this can be reassigned easily
- Not enough distinction between extra panels and stock panels
“The Cooler Master Pro L is a great mouse to use for work and gaming, and any issues are pretty subjective. The sensor is excellent, backed up by some class-leading software, superb build quality and customisation options. If you’re looking for a versatile mouse for the work environment, that isn’t afraid to compete in gaming at the end of a hard day, the Pro L is a great choice.”
