Cooler Master MK750 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Performance

Cooler Master has deployed a selection of Cherry MX switches for you to choose from. There’s nothing adventurous, but the popular classics are covered for; MX Blue, MX Brown, and MX Red. Obviously, we have the clickety-clackety blue switches, which are a joy to type on and have excellent feedback. If you’ve used them before, you know exactly what to expect from whichever Cherry MX switch you choose.

The extra hardware included in the box is fantastic, and while bright pinky purple isn’t to everyone’s taste, I love the sharp contrasting effect they provide. Of course, you’ve also got that slick wrist rest that massively increases your comfort level while gaming, working, or just browsing memes on reddit.

They do look great, don’t you think? Let me know in the comments, yay or nay for the purple?

RGB Party

The MK750 is well equipped, but it’s been hiding a few features that just don’t present themselves until you fire up the power. I mean obviously it has RGB lighting, and it does throw out quite a lot of light and some stunning vibrant colours when dialled up to the maximum. However, it throws in a little ambience too.

The sides of the keyboard have a small light bar, throwing out some extra light to give some glow to your desktop. It’s a cool effect and just adds additional depth to the customisation.

There’s a similar strip along the front too. However, keep in mind that this will be covered up while using the wrist rest.

Overall, this is a great keyboard. Its design is pretty much like any other Cherry MX equipped gaming keyboard, and the performance is exactly where you would expect it to be. The secret sauce lies in everything else being built-in, no software, no fuss, everything is just a finger tap away.

The lighting has plenty of options to play around with too. Obviously, there is full per-key customisation. However, there are plenty of built-in effects also. These include Static, Rainbow, Crosshair, Reactive Fade, Stars, Rain, Cycle, Breathing, Ripple, Snake (yes, you can play it on the keyboard!), and Custom. Enjoy the light show!

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
