Price
The Cooler Master SEidon 240V AIO CPU Watercooler is available from most major retailers. We found it in stock at CCL Computers for a very reasonable £64.66, noticeably cheaper than many of the products it was holding its own against in terms of cooling and acoustics, making it very good value for money in terms of price and performance.
Overview
Cooler Master have nothing to hide here, they set out to make a robust and budget friendly cooler, and that’s exactly what they’ve delivered. Designed to provide system builders with excellent value for money, the Seidon delivered stable cooling performance throughout our testing. While not the coolest in its class, it’s still well within a respectable range, and then we have the acoustic performance. This is one of the quietest AIO coolers we’ve tested, and that’s mostly due to those lovely Silencio fans, which are great for low-noise and high airflow. What this means is that you could comfortably increase the fan RPM to push down those temperatures, or you can just enjoy the silence, either way, there’s some room for tweaking to suit your needs.
Build quality is very impressive, offering a nicely finish radiator and pump design. The overall quality is nothing amazing or innovative to my eyes, but it’s certainly on par with the competition and better than expected for the price range. The tubing is a little on the slim side, but does an adequate job, and is nicely protected with a flexible plastic coating, so it’s very easy to position within your system build. The thing that stands out most, however, is the tool-free mounting system. Thumbscrews on the pump to fit it to the motherboard and even the fans have thumbscrews, making it reasonably beginner friendly to install.
The AIO market continues to become more popular and more competitive. Prices are going down and so are system temperatures, and that’s a great thing for the consumer. Cooler Master have a rock-solid product here that not only looks great but also delivers the performance we were hoping for. We highly recommend this cooler for anyone looking for an entry to AIO water cooling, a quiet cooling solution, or even those on a tighter budget.
